This artifact demonstrates an opportunity for students to demonstrate fluency in a technology system and transfer that knowledge to a new situation.

Using Paul McGee's text, What Video Games Have to Teach Us About Learning and Literacy, I built an activity addressing hazard identification in the workplace. The following principles are built into the activity:

  • Active, critical learning

  • Incremental principle

  • Just in time principle

  • Multiple routes principle

  • Transfer principle

These principles encourage students to draw upon the same skills that have been proven successful in video game learning.
